Firetherm Firestop collars can be retrofitted to existing buildings piping, forming a barrier at the point where the Pipes pass between wall and floor cavaties. The collars are securely fitter around the piping and fixed to the wall or floor surface with fireproof fixings. The intumescent materials in the collars swell to fill the void left by the plastic Piping in fire condtions, helping stop. spread of fire

Cavity barriers are generally required to provide a minimum of 30 minutes integrity (although his can increase to 120 min) and, depending upon the size, location and the insurance requirements, from 30 to 60 minutes insulation They must also maintain their performance over the life of a building, taking account of any building movement due to subsidence, shrinkage or thermal change.
